5:30 am and it is already 78 degrees outside. That is pleasant now, before the sun comes up. Outside the air feels like a cool caress right now!
This is the longest heat wave I remember since childhood, but it went up to 116, and we were surrounded by flooded rice fields. Eeeeeeccccchhhhhh!
My strawberries and tomatoes are essentially cooking on the vines, but as long as the garden gets water, it seems to be loving this weather. Anything that doesn’t get water shrivels up pretty quick.
I am going outside to enjoy it while I can.
UPDATE: Check this out! Sorry, my old scale has a scratch on it – that reading is 15.5 oz – I’m still looking for a solid pounder.
